We are looking for an experienced Business Manager to join our People Team. The Business Manager is responsible for providing support to the CPO in delivering the People Plan and coordinating People Team activities. They will have worked in a People Team previously and be familiar with Risk, Compliance and Governance matters that are important to the function. This is an exciting role for an individual who can work effectively cross-team to make things happen, dealing with everyone, across all functions at all levels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the Chief People Officer (CPO) with coordinating the People Team activities including the purpose and structure of internal meetings, development of People Strategy and development of the People Team. 
  • Support in the preparation of Board papers taking input from analytics and other members of the People team.
  • Attend key meetings with the CPO with the purpose of ensuring follow-up and execution on identified next steps.
  • Track relevant projects to ensure delivery in accordance with deadlines – identifying and removing or escalating any obstacles to completion.
  • Work with the Internal Communications to manage the distribution of People information to the Executive and wider organisation. 
  • Manage the Risk and Control framework for the People function ensuring Risk and Control owners are aware and accountable and enabling them to clearly articulate and manage their risk profile.
  • Present Risk Management information to key stakeholders on a monthly basis, collating data and presenting in a way that can be cascaded.
  • Assist the People leadership in identification of risk and creation of controls including development of continuous monitoring approaches.
  • Undertake periodic independent Controls effective testing, providing effective challenge where appropriate.
  • Identify control deficiencies and areas for enhancement.
  • Manage operational events and reviews including root cause analysis, containment, lessons learned and read across.
  • Coordinate all internal and external audit activities for the People Team
  • Work alongside the Finance teams to embed a culture of budget management and ensure that budgets are being met across the Bank 

Requirements

  • Financial services experience
  • An organised individual who can work proactively to identify and solve problems
  • Able to work effectively cross-team to make things happen, dealing with everyone, across all functions at all levels
  • A proactive, ‘can do’ attitude, quick learner and can handle multiple tasks at once
  • Confident communicator and can turn a challenging situation around
  • Inquisitive and analytical mind is key
