Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Events Team Member to handle the set up and service of catering for meetings, conferences, workshops and receptions at Victoria & Albert Museum

About the Events Team Member role:

  • To Assist in setting up and breaking down events spaces, including table arrangements and buffet stations.
  • To set up and service of coffee, teas, beverages and food for meetings and conferences. Efficiently manage the arrangement of breakfast and wine receptions, maintaining exceptional presentation and service standards.
  • To support events staff during receptions, ensuring seamless delivery of service in accordance with clients expectations. Provide ongoing guidance and support to uphold excellent service throughout each event.
  • To brief the events team on event details, including timings, clients requirements and service expectations.
  • To maintain cleanliness and storage of crockery, glassware and other catering equipment following daytime deliveries and setups. Ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned, properly stored and prepared for future use.
  • To maintain high standards of food safety and health regulations at all times.
  • To assume managerial responsibilities in the absence of the manager, ensuring continuity of service and operations.

About the ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is required.
  • Enthusiastic about working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to motivate and inspire.
  • Flexibility to work on events as and when required.
  • Passion for food and wine is a plus!

We Offer:

Rate: £12.50 per hour

Contract: Full time/ Permanent



Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 years experience in similar roles
  • Excellent product knowledge (food/beverage)
  • Experience in running large events
  • Leads by example by always acting professional.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Takes the initiative
  • Excellent time management
  • Supportive / Team player
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
