JOB PURPOSE
As a Finance Analyst at Burberry, you will be a key member of the EMEIA Commercial Finance team. This role is responsible for providing commercial finance support for FP&A with a specific focus Capital, Real Estate, and Margin. You will be the key support to the Senior Finance Manager and Finance Director, providing insight for internal management reporting with relevant analysis to enable critical decisions.
This is a hybrid role working 3 days per week from our Horseferry House, London office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting
- Overseeing weekly and monthly consolidation of sales reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders, highlighting key trends in performance and identification of R&O for full year forecast
- Developing and submitting the EMEIA rolling forecast to Group Finance
- Maintaining a timely and accurate summary of real estate movements, both actuals and forecast
Capex
- Consolidation, preparation and forecasting of EMEIA Capex, including strategic planning investments
- Working closely with the Architecture and Construction teams to understand and improve Capex forecast, alongside identifying, highlighting and sharing issues around capex actualization
- Consolidating regional investment documents, reviewing and challenging assumptions while linking with the EMEIA sub-regions
- Responsible for EMEIA impairment process in the region by reviewing revenue growth rates and capex input assumptions
Margin
- Preparation of robust budgets and forecasts, including system loads, reconciliations, and checks
- Working closely with internal accounting teams to ensure monthly actuals are timely and accurate, including associated variance analysis and commentary into what the numbers mean
- Understanding of recent trends and areas for improvement, including risk and opportunities
- Preparation and submission of Group templates as part of budget and forecast submissions, Half Year and Year end closing
Other
- Communicating with and representing the region for any finance queries and analysis needed
- Sharing ideas and contributing to profitability initiatives in the region
- Supporting scenario analysis and forecasting, understanding of key financial drivers across business
- Driving continuous process improvements, promoting best in class reporting, meaningful analysis and business insight
PERSONAL PROFILE
- CIMA qualified/part qualified
- Experience in management reporting and financial analysis (including CAPAX and Margin) preferably within a large commercial/corporate environment
- Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly understand and interpret complex information
- Strong Excel skills with experience of building and working with complex models and large data sets
- Ability to build strong relationships, both with the wider Finance team globally and throughout the business
- Attention to detail, dedicated, enthusiastic and self-motivated
