We’re currently seeking a driven and confident Finance Assistant to join our team in Birmingham to be part of our Education team to business partner with the wider Education team to help deliver finances that are the driving forces behind the progression of the team. This is a wonderful opportunity for a part qualified Finance Assistant to strengthen and increase their skillset. The successful candidate will be responsible for; 

  • Working in a true team environment, assisting other team members with their work needs
  • Preparation of detailed monthly files and reconciliations
  • Help oversee and manage individual accounts aswell as the queries inbox
  • Support in resolution of debt queries
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Responsible for identifying risks and escalating to the respective manager and taking ownership of the resolution of the issues
  • Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees
  • Preparation of allocated month end journals and monthly reports
  • Ownership of several Finance Accounting activities
  • Support any annual and ad-hoc financial accounting requirements for the organisation
  • Liaise with clients to resolve any queries and build relationships
  • Continually review and improve processes to ensure an efficient approach
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following;

  • Experience in a finance capacity 
  • Working towards a financial qualification or be qualified by experience
  • Have a genuinely flexible approach to work 
  • Highly analytical 
  • Able to build and develop relationship with stakeholders quickly 
  • Able to plan and organise workloads effectively 
  • Positive attitude towards work
  • Excellent communication skills
