Finance Business Partner

Due to internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Finance Business Partner, this key role is part of a multi-skilled bid team responsible for supporting the B&I net growth delivery. The bridge between the sales and sector team, you will work alongside business development to create a commercial offer that strikes the balance between being compelling to the client, with an acceptable level of risk to the business. 
The Finance Business Partner will report into the B&I Finance Director with a dotted line into Sales you will lead the Bid Finance team to proactively provide options and scenario planning analysis to ensure a healthy balance between attractive client proposals and a sustainable financial position for the business.
As Finance Business Business Partner you will :
  • Have involvement in the bid process right from kick-off to result 
  • Estimate, review, and challenge bid requirements, reviewing risks and opportunities, and undertaking modelling, costing, pricing, as appropriate
  • Take responsibility for the management and accurate population of financial sign off documentation and financial submissions
  • Attend meetings, provide reports and liaise with all stakeholders on commercial analysis matters.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts 
  • Assess and improve key benchmark data to justify the commercial viability of bids at the outset of the strategy planning phase and to facilitate the executive sign off phase at the end of the bidding cycle
  • Be client facing at presentations and site visits
  • Look for continuous improvement and sharing of best practice in the approach taken to commercial modelling
The successful Finance Business Partner will:
  • Be a Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with varied experience in accounting roles
  • Have experience managing, coaching and developing a team 
  • Show commercial awareness and capability including ability to understand scenario planning
  • Have excellent Excel skills
  • Be experienced in business partnering non-finance professionals
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Be disciplined with a strong orientation towards processes and procedures
  • Have the confidence to challenge senior management where appropriate
  • Possess the ability to work under pressure and to deliver in agreed timescales
  • Have excellent communication skills – ability to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically – to both finance and non-finance people
  • Take a pro-active and energetic approach 
  • Be able to analyse and evaluate information concisely
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence internal and external parties
  • Be self-motivated with an ability to effectively plan and organise own work
