Job Description

  • Bring the innovation and passion to life within the kitchen, by taking ownership of the weekly menu’s in our restaurant, allowing you room to flourish and bring your own personal touch.
  • Take pride in the dishes that we serve each day to thousands of people, ensuring they are exceeding expectations, yet there is a fast and efficient service.
  • Overseeing all food tastings, presentations, and encouraging the team to take pride in their dishes and ensuring it consistently meets and exceeds our high standards. 
  • You will have a team of approx. 18 employees from Kitchen Porter to Sous Chef, and it is key that you inspire and mentor them to excel within our business, and empower them to take responsibility for the dishes they are cooking. 
  • Take full responsibility for controlling the costings by being considerate of the recipes and ingredients you use, and hitting (and hopefully exceeding) financial targets. 
  • Support our Culinary Lead in the Drive for innovation and trends, by bringing new recipes and new ideas to life, and keeping tabs on what is popular, and what we can achieve here. 
  • To lead the with the safe supervision of all food production preparation, cooking and presentation, ensuring the reputation of food quality is always maintained.
  • To ensure food production, standards, costs and menu planning are carried out in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that the location meets statutory and company requirements in Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislation and procedures by completing risk assessments to ensure all is adhered to such as allergen policies.
  • Assist in working as part of One Team, projecting a willing and helpful attitude to colleagues and clients.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a Head Chef, ideally within Contract Catering or with high volumes
  • Have an obsession and passion for food and creating experiences, and keeping up with food trends, but always wanting to achieve more!
  • You can demonstrate that managing, training, and supporting a team has been an important part of your career to date
  • Financially astute, you are very analytical and know how to create and maintain budgets and drive commercial performance
  • Ability to prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, creative environment and able to thrive under pressure
  • Meticulous organisational abilities and a high attention to detail
  • Empathetic, clear and highly effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective
