  • To promote and lead a safety culture and ensure your team are aware of and operate in accordance with company and client Health & Safety procedures at all times
  • To be a role model as regard Compass behaviours at all times 
  • To effectively manage a team of Brand & Training Managers to company standards
  • To ensure that senior stakeholders within the ESS business are regularly engaged at the appropriate level, with clear concise and accurate information
  • To clearly communicate the retail strategy (regarding each steam) to the ESS family
  • To use data and Management information systems e.g. unit Dashboards, EPOS, CPOS & Nexus together with your knowledge & experience to develop & implement plans to improve general operations and the profitability
  • To ensure that brand standard infrastructure is fit for purpose, easily understandable and simple to access
  • To ensure that a clear brand auditing framework (MPRO5 etc) is in place for the Brand & Training Managers to implement
  • To interface with Marketing stakeholders to drive optimum consumer engagement strategies
  • To manage the day to day relationship with key suppliers (CSG etc)
  • To support with key sales and retention activities, writing retail orientated bid documents and producing financial models for various formats
  • To manage the team in line with company procedures including formal performance management processes & disciplinary investigations as appropriate
  • To organise regular business/team meetings to review performance and share best practice
  • To ensure all company, client & legal requirements, processes and procedures are implemented effectively
  • To comply with any reasonable requests made by your Line Manager
  • An enthusiastic individual with a passion for leading in a retail environment
  • Extensive experience across multiple retail formats, able to adapt and manage strategy in a challenging environment 
  • An outstanding communicator, able to liaise confidently with colleagues, lead clients, senior management and engage / develop & motivate a team of Brand Managers  
  • Knowledge & experience of driving sustainable & profitable sales growth across multiple retail formats
  • Able to develop a long-term, innovative strategies and an ability to interface these with each other, ensuring a joined-up approach
  • Able to interpret changing trends and dynamics within the retail industry and adapt to suit, also to develop own 
  • Experience of developing a strong retail focussed culture amongst teams whilst working remotely   
  • IT literate – able to use IT infra to drive best practice and general efficiencies
  • Good financial and numeracy skills with the ability to analyse & interpret data
  • Able to work flexibly in line with business requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Senior management experience leading and inspiring retail  teams to deliver results
  • Experience of working within brand guidelines to deliver results
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation
