Job Purpose and Summary
Canon is looking for an IT Contract Manager to join the CIO-Office team responsible for assisting in the management of contractual engagements with our IT vendors.
In this role your main responsibility will be to ensure new engagements (and new services to existing engagements) are appropriately contracted. This will sometimes mean leading and coordinating the process, sometimes reviewing the input (and ensuring the quality) created by others in the IT department.
This role is well suited for someone with an in-depth understanding and experience with IT projects and contracting skills including legal elements and IT elements of an IT Service contract.

As an IT Contract Manager, you will:
Be involved with Contract Lifecycle Management by:
- Supporting Service/Contract Owners as required to ensure contracts are up to date
- Train Service/Contract Owners and internal support functions on IT contract governance quality
- Support Service / Contract Owners with input into any contracting questions
- Undertake a quality review of an agreed volume of service renewal documents and one-off project statements of work
Support sourcing, vendor and performance management by:
- Assist Sourcing and Procurement teams on relevant input into RFP’s.
- Assist Service/Contract Owner and Vendor Management (for strategic suppliers)
- Aligning with and assisting the Contract Performance Manager (contractual execution of our Strategic Application Maintenance and Application Delivery vendors)
Be involved with IT Contract Governance by:
- Maintaining IT contracts governance documentation (process/R&R)
- Providing input to IT contract governance process review and redesign (prior to the implementation of new Contract Management System (CMS)
- Assisting in the implementation of the future / proposed new CMS
Involved with Contract Administration by:
- Supervising external resources engaged to uploading/archiving contracts and capturing/updating contract metadata.

What we ask
As an IT Contract Manager, you will need:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- An in-depth understanding of and experience with IT projects and IT service provision
- Para-legal IT contracting skills including a detailed understanding of both the legal elements and IT elements of an IT service contract
- High level understanding of EU legislation relevant to IT contracting
- Contract quality review, drafting, negotiation skills
- Analytical and communication skills (ability to provide insights into contractual matters)
- Stakeholder management
- Able to mix short term priority activities with a strong medium and long term planning
