 An opportunity has arisen working within a key Canon customer site for an Onsite Technician. The Onsite Technician is the first level responder for the proactive and reactive management of the devices within the customer estate, working closely with the Client Services Manager, a team of engineers and supporting technical teams in the company you will be the be face of Canon. You will have the opportunity to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders and really make a difference to the operational performance of our devices and improve customer satisfaction levels for which you’ll be rewarded through a variable pay package. As the onsite technician you will support the engineering team with the daily operations of the managed print & document services provision and be responsible for the management of all activities from being the print lead on the client’s IT helpdesk through to successful proactive and reactive management of the fleet of printers across various locations on the campus.

– Respond proactively to device notifications where toner, waste toner and paper levels require attention across the campus.

– 1st and 2nd level IT helpdesk agent specifically for print related incident (via the client ITSM) management of staff and software/hardware related issues.

– Carry out regular maintenance checks, identify, fix or escalate potential incidents within Canon to the appropriate support functions.

– Collection and disposal of used toner and waste receptacles as per the agreed contract SLA’s

– To maintain “show room appearance” of all devices, ensuring requisite levels of consumables are provided to all machines. 

– Monitor consumables by volume, historic data to support maximum uptime of devices and minimize waste and over stocking with accurate stock controls.

– Escalation reporting of incident/problem management via the account Client Services Manager

– Support the Client Services Manager with client reviews, by collating accurate performance statistics from tasks undertaken on the Helpdesk and manually.

You will also be able to use your own initiative, be proactive in self-learning and have the confidence to highlight areas of concern.

The onsite Technician will need:

– Hands on knowledge / experience of IVANTI Software Manager IT helpdesk (ITSM) and the operation thereof

– In depth knowledge of the print management software PaperCut

– Can demonstrate Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

–  To demonstrate the ability and proven track record of logical fault finding and resolution of    printer related issues

–  To demonstrate the ability to understand and print management software (PaperCut) and be proficient on device management of the software

– Full UK driving license.

– Have the ability to lift boxes with a weight of up to 25kg

– Excellent Communication Skills (Verbal & Written)

Salary – £24,836 – £26,115 per annum
