The Role and the Team

Blue Light Card launched in Sydney, Australia in October 2022.

We’ve got big plans and are growing fast, as a result, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to join the team and support our colleagues.

We’re looking for someone who has done a Business Partner role in a start-up organisation before, who can work proactively and independently and has the skills and experience to help us scale for growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a strategic partner and advisor to leaders and management teams, offering guidance and support in various HR domains, including talent management, employee development, performance management, reward & recognition, engagement/culture, employee relations and internal communications
  • Collaborate with leaders to create and implement people plans and strategies that align with business objectives and promote a high performing, engaged workforce
  • Work with the Learning & Development team to implement effective induction plans and training plans for new colleagues and help managers to identify and curate coaching and development for existing colleagues
  • In collaboration with the Learning & Development team, drive a high-performance culture through the performance management process, ensuring clear goal setting, timely feedback, and effective performance discussions supported by appropriate HR tools and resources
  • Implement and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations while fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment
  • Leverage and integrate HR technology tools for analytics, employee engagement, and performance management
  • Review HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop appropriate strategies to address them
  • Stay up to date with changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure business compliance and proactively advise on potential impacts on HR practices

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role, with good knowledge of all HR functions and best practices (subject matter expertise in reward & recognition, internal communication, talent/performance management, driving a performance led culture and engagement would be advantageous)
  • Solid understanding of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply data-driven insights to drive outcomes
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand and align people initiatives with strategic business objectives
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite
  • Flexibility to join calls with the UK team during UK hours
