King’s Search was established in 2017 with the aim of running professorial and established/specialist professional services hiring. As the first permanent executive search team to be established in a UK university, we are a distinctive and innovative offering in higher education. We are a small and specialist team, with a broad cross section of recruitment and executive search experience. Embedded within the HR function, we are uniquely positioned to support King’s strategic ambitions, helping the University to grow in key areas of research that address today’s global challenges as well as respond to student interests.
 
Enhancing AI capability was identified as a key ambition in Strategy 2026 and Vision 2029, across both research and education themes. Our objective is to build King’s capability, visibility and standing in this rapidly growing and highly important field, which will be crucial for our position as a world-leading university.
 
The role of Researcher is to identify exceptional, diverse and emerging talent, and produce high quality paperwork and reports. Key to this is ensuring that we are working in partnership with our clients and stakeholders, providing appropriate communication in a timely manner, always ensuring accuracy. Responsibilities include mapping the market, building talent pools, approaching prospective candidates, and ensuring that candidate information is stored appropriately on our database.
 
Developing a detailed understanding of King’s and a broad understanding of different academic disciplines (including King’s NHS partners) will be vital, as market research is fundamental to producing the best possible outcomes, and is the backbone to the success of every assignment. You will also support with client and candidate administration and logistics. King’s Search is committed to delivering the highest quality service to our clients and we pride ourselves on our candidate care.
 
We are looking for a researcher to join us as soon as possible for an FTC running until 31st July 2026, to provide support on an exciting university agenda to grow our expertise in Artificial Intelligence. Our ideal candidate will have experience of working within recruitment, executive search or an in-house talent team with excellent research and mapping skills. You will be expected to bring strong administration skills, be highly organised, with attention to detail and able to effectively prioritise multiple projects and deadlines.
