Senior Director, Finance – Santa Monica, 90404, United States of America 

How we LEAD: 

The Interscope Capitol Labels Group (“ICLG”) team is looking for a full-time Senior Director to be based in Santa Monica and Hollywood, CA. The Senior Director will be responsible for all deal evaluations for the Interscope Capitol Labels Group (“ICLG”) team. The successful candidate is an analytical, proactive, and intellectually curious individual who can identify opportunities/risks and articulate findings. The Senior Director position is a highly visible role that will report to the Chief Financial Officer of ICLG and work closely with the EVP / Head of Business & Legal Affairs of ICLG.

How you’ll CREATE:

  • Manage financial and strategic analysis of all recorded music artists, joint venture, buy-out, and distribution deals by collaborating with different business units to model investment returns and establish strategic rationale.

  • Manage approval process for executive approval-level deals and follow through with post-mortem analyses post-execution.

  • Provide unbiased partnership and a financial lens to critical decisions that will have long term impacts on deal making.

  • Work with UMG and external Audit teams to ensure deferred balances are supported.

  • Collect, review and ensure the accuracy of artist, joint venture, and distribution P&Ls to support decision-making for management.

  • Provide financial guidance on music and merchandise pricing in retail and D2C channels.

  • Expected to enhance and modify financial models as needed.

  • Ad hoc projects as required, including working with other departments across UMG & external partners.

Bring your VIBE:

  • BS in Finance, Economics or Accounting.

  • Music industry experience preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.

  • Minimum 5-8 years’ finance-related experience in corporate finance, consulting, business development, or other analytical role.

  • Deep understanding of finance and cash flow concepts/principles as well as NPV and IRR calculations.

  • MicroStrategy and SAP financial application experience/knowledge preferred.

  • Proficiency with MS Office products including advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Must possess apolitical experience with deal evaluation.

  • Great organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize based on evolving workload.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to relay information to executives and management, while being sensitive to confidential information.

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including adaptability, personal effectiveness, and the ability to establish quick rapport.

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and effectively follow through under pressure and/or tight deadlines.
