We’re recruiting for a Senior Research Specialist to join our Research team.
The role is responsible for the delivery of a range of qualitative and quantitative research projects, focusing on in-house and commissioned research. The role-holder should act as the voice of the member/consumer, building strong relationships with stakeholders to provide valued guidance and advice in relation to our customers’ needs.

You will be joining the Brand and Research team consisting of 6 Research and 5 Brand colleagues, sitting in the broader CMO (Marketing) function but regularly working across the business. The teams you will inform, influence and negotiate with on a regular basis include Marketing, Strategy, Digital, Home and Money. Externally you’ll collaborate with our research agency partners.

What Will You Be Doing?
As a Senior Research Specialist, you’ll help understand and elevate the voice of our members in delivering a range of qualitative and quantitative research projects, primarily focusing on ad hoc in-house and commissioned research projects. You’ll build strong relationships with stakeholders to provide valued guidance and advice in relation to our customers’ needs. Key responsibilities include:

Management of research projects, working with stakeholders to ensure that the research meets their objectives; that research findings are accurate, relevant and reliable, recommendations are clear and actionable.

Development and testing of key research materials, including sample design, screeners, questionnaires and topic guides, reporting platforms in PowerBI and debriefs.

Analysis of data received from a variety of sources, identifying key themes and trends and linking these to wider research findings and reporting of monthly business KPI metrics.

Support the delivery of our customer experience measurement plan, including management of customer feedback databases, data cleaning and reporting.

Recommendation of relevant new research and analysis approaches and techniques which enable us to maximise the value of the work that we do as a team.

Building and on-going management of relationships with key stakeholders in other areas of the organisation, ensuring that the work we do is being used to influence the Society’s plans.

Promotion of the Research team and the work we do across the Society to enhance the value of research to the organisation.
What Do We Need From You?
The ideal candidate needs to be able to evidence demonstrable experience in a relevant research and analysis role.
Strong qualitative and quantitative research design, delivery, and analysis skills, with the ability to develop research that meets the needs of stakeholders.
Great communicator – able to take complex information and communicate it in a clear and concise manner, adapting it to suit the needs of different audiences, and able to produce engaging research outputs whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Numerate – can understand, interpret and manipulate numerical data with ease (using tools where relevant).
Creative – good problem solver and able to work on own initiative.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships both within the team, the wider business and external research agencies in order to support the attainment of objectives and maximise the value of research.
