 Stores Maintenance Co-ordinator – Nottingham 

We are recruiting for a Stores & Maintenance Co-Ordinator at our site in Colwick.

In this role the successful candidate will be responsible in ensuring the minimum stock levels of Critical Spares and Engineering consumables are maintained on stock, labelled clearly, in designated storage areas inside the Stores building and external racking area. Source competitive quotes to reduce procurement costs, seeking alternate supplier options for goods and services that deliver the required cost, quality and service requirements.

You will also undertake admin of Computerised Maintenance Management System to close out Work Orders and update Asset information

 

Key Responsibilities 

1.       Health and Safety Management:
  • Ensure personal health and safety, as well as the safety of colleagues, by adhering to all relevant health and safety guidelines.
  • Promote and maintain a positive health and safety culture within the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety obligations and company policies.
  • Report safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents, and incidents promptly for investigation and corrective action.
2.       Consumables and Critical Spares Management:
  • Review Engineer Shift Reports daily to assess consumables usage and determine re-order requirements.
  • Reorder critical spares as necessary to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Maintain and update the Critical Spares list with information on prices, storage locations, order lead times, and alternative supplier options.
3.       Budget and Expenditure Management:
  • Monitor and manage the Month to Date Repairs and Spares expenditure for each Profit Centre at Colwick, ensuring spending aligns with budgeted figures.
  • Source multiple quotes for new or replacement items and work with the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader, and Profit Centre Manager to approve any purchases over £250.
4.       Maintenance Planning and Coordination:
  • Develop and manage the weekly Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule for the engineering team.
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure all necessary work is captured and logged on the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for plant repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Update CMMS following work order completion or breakdown attendance and generate trend analysis and reports on asset performance.
5.       Stores Organization and Maintenance:
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and tidy internal and external Stores area, ensuring items are stored correctly and easily accessible.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation and maintain accurate records of stock levels.
6.       Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and deliver reports detailing Work Order completion, PPM achievements, and Expenditure by plant area or asset.
  • Update and maintain the CMMS, ensuring it accurately reflects completed tasks, work orders, and breakdowns.
  • Create and distribute trend graphs to highlight any recurring issues or patterns in plant performance.
7.       Continuous Improvement and Feedback:
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to the Maintenance Department and wider Colwick operations team for improvements in plant reliability.
  • Propose ideas for better parts design, material selection, and abrasion resistance to extend the service life of equipment and reduce downtime.
8.       Additional Duties:
  • Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as required by the business, provided they are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the role, and you are qualified or trained to do so.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 

  • English and maths GCSE’s grades C+ or equivalent
  • Proficient with Excel spreadsheet creation / data entry / data filtering 
  • Some experience with mechanical and electrical components for fixed and mobile plant & machinery 
  • Familiar with CMMS and purchase ledger systems
  • Previously experience with managing Consignment Stock systems with suppliers
  • Experience of tendering for significant expenditure on projects 
  • Have worked in a fast-paced manufacturing operation utilizing similar heavy plant and machinery
