Are you ready to play a key role in shaping the future of city transport? Our Urban Traffic Management and Control (UTMC) team is looking for a passionate, technologically proficient technician to join our team and help us keep the city’s traffic running smoothly.
You’ll be at the heart of the action, supporting the operation and management of critical traffic systems across the city. You’ll work with emerging technologies, including AI, drones, and connected smart systems, to monitor and control 240 traffic signals, cameras, and message signs. Every day, you’ll contribute to transforming how our city’s highway network operates!
As part of our innovative and forward-thinking team, you’ll be involved in exciting projects that shape the future of transport—rolling out smart, automated solutions that make the city safer and more efficient for everyone. You’ll respond to live traffic control situations, manage demand, reduce disruptions, and ensure smooth travel across the city.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor our advanced traffic control desk during your shift, ensuring the seamless flow of traffic.
- Be part of the action, responding to real-time challenges, collaborating with partners, and driving forward innovative traffic solutions.
- Support exciting events and activities across the network, working with a variety of stakeholders to improve citywide transport efficiency.
- Help develop and implement strategies that enhance the operation of existing traffic systems and create new approaches.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, alternating weekly – 7 am – 3 pm or 11 am – 7 pm

To excel in this role, you will bring:
- An awareness of the principle of Urban Traffic Management and Control
- Experience in engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- An ability to analyse complex situations and make informed decisions that drive positive outcomes
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
