Window Cleaning Operative

To ensure all tasks associated with window cleaning and any general support services are carried out with due regard to all Health & Safety Regulations. Work as part of a team to ensure all general duties are completed to appropriate standards to support the efficient running of a contract or unit in line with contractual requirements.

To carry out the various duties required under the terms of the cleaning specification as directed by the Window Cleaning Supervisor.

Work as part of the window cleaning team and ensure all daily cleaning is completed to the required standard. Using the reach wash pole system.

Follow the cleaning schedule and periodic cleaning schedule as directed by the Window Cleaning Supervisor.

Ability to prioritise own workload and organise own work to meet priorities, and reduce risks to quality.

To demonstrate a can‐do attitude and strive to exceed customer expectations.

To be polite, professional and friendly at all times with customers, clients and colleagues.

Report to the Window Cleaning Supervisor any concerns or complaints raised by the Building Controller/Client.

To actively gain customer feedback, passing information gained onto your Line Manager.

To be the first point of contact for Building Controllers should any window related issues arise.

Ensure all Health & Safety measures are adhered to at all times.

Ensure that all equipment is kept maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.

To report any machinery defects to the Window Cleaning Supervisor.

Carry out all continued Health & Safety training and E-Learning.

Our ideal Cleaner will:

  • Previous experience of team working within a similar environment.

    Be able to work as a team but also willing to act on their own initiative.

    Good communication skills in order to be able to liaise with a wide range of team members and customers within your work environment.

    Able to comply with legislation and follow all rules and regulations laid down in the staff handbook and unit policy statements, with regard to uniform, personal hygiene, health and safety.

    Criminal Records Bureau security checks required where applicable in accordance with Employment Law and Legislation.

    Cleaning expertise and experience relevant to the role.

    Team player and can‐do attitude.

    Regularly makes suggestions that aim to improve how the work area is cleaned and cleaning product wastage reduced.

    Takes pride in personal appearance and hygiene.

    Self motivated and able to use own initiative.

    Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
