Faculty / Directorate:
Home to four specialist schools – Allied Health Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery, and Leicester School of Pharmacy – the Faculty has a long tradition of providing high quality education and development to professionals who make a significant difference to lives, health, wellbeing, communities and society. The dedicated facilities are designed to replicate current practice and feature industry-standard equipment, enabling staff and students to undertake life changing projects to improve health and social care.
Role:
The primary role will be to support and participate in the preparation of designated specialist teaching spaces for staff and students. This will include maintaining and providing training, practical assistance and advice in the use of specialist equipment and technology, such as simulation manikins and moving & handling techniques. The post holder will work under the direction of the Team Leader and Senior Technicians to support the day to day running of Clinical Skills practice spaces with ownership over designated equipment and activities, such as simulation management and OSCEs.
Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a highly organised, motivated and creative individual with a commitment to continuous improvement to provide a full technical service to staff and students within the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery and Allied Health Sciences. With experience in the use of specialist equipment and techniques relevant to the area of work, the post holder will hold strong interpersonal skills with the ability to promote and support new technology. Knowledge or experience of simulated learning environments and virtual learning environments would make you a stand out candidate. Staff development opportunities will be considered on the completion of a successful probationary period. The post holder may also be required to support other teaching areas within the faculty when required.
