UMUK value e-Commerce as a key foundational channel to connect artists and fans. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team to develop, implement and execute ecommerce strategies for UMUK artists. These campaigns will have a truly global impact and help to build and monetise audiences and drive international ecommerce revenue for our artists and ultimately help break UK talent globally.
This is a fast paced and challenging role. Pivotal in helping to manage and co-ordinate international ecommerce campaigns for a focused roster of UK artists, specifically with a remit of breaking artists and maximising revenue from our global stores.
This role will work directly across frontline labels, international marketing and central teams and our local ecommerce teams. You will co-ordinate the artists commerce strategy, managing the flow of key campaign information and briefing and co-ordinating global ecommerce campaigns across music and merchandise. Specifically, the successful candidate will work cross functionally with key leads across the Direct to Fan organisation, including the Direct to Fan leads, local ecommerce managers, international marketing managers and local store operations teams and our international labels.
Key Job Pillars & Focus

D2C / Ecommerce – overall responsibility for Universal UK signed artists D2C and ecommerce platforms globally – working with territories, repertoire owners (labels), central commercial teams and other key stakeholders within the business to launch, maintain, optimise and our UK signed artists ecommerce campaigns.

Merchandise – manage international range plans, options and schedules – building the offering of merch for our artists within our stores globally as part of rounded campaigns.

Asset Management – share and manage all assets for international set up of store and mailers with markets alongside other logistical elements (e.g linkfire) to ensure smooth campaign launches & optimisation throughout each campaign.

Opportunity – part of the role will include a focus on creation of further opportunities within markets to increase sales within the ecommerce front – as an example but not limited to – pre-order for pre-sale campaigns on launch, working with third parties to drive traffic to stores & working with markets on other retail offerings outside of the D2C space.

Insight & reporting – reporting back on ecommerce campaigns and opportunities within UMG UK is an important part of the role – this includes but not limited to performance, revenue and best practice changes.
Project Management / Co-Ordination

Lead – act as the international eCommerce lead for UMUK, maintaining a deep understanding of key international territory requirements, local chart rules and key market trends.

Internal Process – be the central commercial representative for our UK Artists within the international team – liaising with relevant commercial and central leads internally in UMG UK, and with our markets and partners globally.

Develop and oversee the launch of new artist stores across international markets, working with label ecommerce teams, local marketing and ecommerce operations teams to oversee timely builds and launches as well as maintenance and growing current stores.

Working collaboratively with our frontline labels, you will use your music eCommerce, commercial and merchandising experience to formulate & execute D2C international commerce strategies to drive sales.

Retail Development – the role is not restricted to D2C – the role requires focus and development of other retail opportunities across music product and merchandise, for launch, ongoing campaigns and driving pre-orders.

Scheduling – manage UMUK ecommerce release schedule with local markets, highlighting priorities and managing the global launch of local storefronts, ensuring that all assets are shared with local ecommerce teams and deadlines are met for launch.

Insight – maintain an overview on the international retail picture – what is working, what isn’t, what are the opportunities, how are other campaigns being run and how can we implement change and build better campaigns.
Logistics & Best Practice

You will project manage campaign activity with international markets covering strategy, eCommerce creative, operational, marketing and customer engagement to drive artist and label eCommerce goals. This includes all facets from link creations where required, pricing, central worksheets on campaigns and

Be the UK ‘project lead’ for approval and management of international store launch checklists, set up, asset sharing and final ‘go live’ approvals. Manage harmonization of global prices and fan experience around merchandise and music.

Drive implementation and adherence to timelines, templates and best practice in order to ensure successful international launches.

Coordinate global eCommerce store launch linking/redirects; ensuring great UX and that marketing and digital strategies adequately drive traffic and awareness to international stores.

Work with international marketing to share assets and content for paid and CRM and approve CRM templates, local CRM strategy and paid plan (content & spend) specifically for ecommerce.

Use data analytics to optimise campaign performance against commercial and audience development goals on an ongoing basis.

Reporting – manage KPIs and sales reports across the roster of artists and present back to UK labels on performance.

Oversee our artists international Fan experience, manage escalations for any territory and where possible, constantly measure the customer feedback loop; ensure fan happiness and loyalty.

The Person
Necessary

Experience in managing ecommerce store launches ideally Shopify.

International marketing and project management as key skills required
-
Experience managing global music campaigns ideally focused on the ecommerce channel.

Experience managing international programs or working directly with international markets.
-
Solid understanding or strong interest in global eCommerce trends, specifically best practices as they apply to the fan to artist relationship and variances between key markets.

Deep understanding of music fandom and the fan to artist connection.

Exceptional presentation, verbal and written abilities — communication skills are essential

Availability and willingness to take calls before and after hours to accommodate international teams.

Extremely organized and comfortable streamlining many moving parts. Comfortable juggling multiple high priority projects simultaneously.

Self-starter attitude capable of owning important responsibilities and seeing them through to completion with little oversight and able to meet deadlines

Strong critical thinking skills and an ability to make informed decisions based on data. OS.

Strong passion for the music industry required. Experience in the music industry, particularly within a label, is a major plus.

Understanding of paid marketing including paid and social. Good knowledge of CRM marketing.

Knowledge of Google Analytics and onsite performance metrics and user behaviour to enable business decision-making

A strong understanding of core eCommerce best practice with clear results delivering of great customer experiences.
Desirable

Experience of working within music ecommerce on album pre-order campaigns.

Knowledge of global physical music production is strongly preferred.

Experience of working with project management tools – preferably Monday.com

Experience of working in cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion with an ability to react quickly and calmly to changing artist & label needs and deadlines
