Overview
Calisen is excited to offer five female smart metering apprentices.
Women remain underrepresented in technical roles, and this programme is one way we’re helping change that by opening clear, supported pathways into the industry.
Although female representation in engineering is slowly growing, it’s still low. By creating dedicated opportunities, we can make the profession more accessible and better reflect the communities we serve, while bringing in the diverse perspectives needed for the future of energy technology.
Apprenticeships offer a secure route into a skilled career with real qualifications, hands‑on experience and room to grow. This initiative also supports our wider goal of building a more diverse talent pipeline and helping females develop into future leaders and role models.
This apprenticeship provides full, structured training to become a fully qualified Smart Meter Engineer, with all the support, coaching and on‑the‑job learning you need to build confidence and succeed in the role. Even if you have no previous technical experience, we’ll train you from the ground up and guide you step‑by‑step through nationally recognised qualifications.
