About the role
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a field-based position responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to support the medical and scientific needs of the MJN portfolio of products. This position functions as an internal bridge between R&D and Commercial organizations (Medical Sales, Marketing, Professional Services, and National Accounts), providing comprehensive knowledge of MJN products, scientific education, research support, and clinical insights to ensure the MJN portfolio of products are understood and utilized effectively in the medical community.
Your responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with KOLs and HCPs.
- Provide scientific education, product information, and updates through clear presentations and discussions.
- Gather and report field insights and competitive intelligence to inform medical, innovation, and business strategy.
- Respond to medical information inquiries with accurate, timely scientific support.
- Train, mentor, and support new MSLs and the medical sales team on product science and innovation.
- Participate in advisory boards, clinical research activities, and investigator‑led studies as needed.
- Review scientific materials and contribute to publications to ensure accuracy, compliance, and clinical relevance.
- Provide clinical insights for R&D and innovation projects from early development through launch.
The experience we're looking for
- Registered Dietitian (RD); advanced certifications such as CSP, CSPCC, CLC, CNSC, or IBCLC preferred.
- Master’s degree in nutrition with strong scientific and therapeutic knowledge.
- 5–10 years of hospital experience, including direct neonatal and pediatric patient care.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to travel extensively (50–60%, including overnights).
- Experience leading QI or research projects in hospital or academic settings; publications are a plus.
- Preferred: Medical Science Liaison Board Certification (MSL‑BC) and prior industry experience.
