Assistant Financial Accountant
Location: Hinton House, Warrington (Hybrid: min. 2 days/week in office)
Reports to: Financial Accounting Manager

Purpose of the Role
As Assistant Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting across all three NTS legal entities—INS, DRS, and PNTL. You’ll be a trusted partner in supporting audits, compliance, and transformation, helping shape the future of finance at NTS.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be hands-on with financial data, collaborating across teams, and contributing to a high-performing finance function. Your key accountabilities include:
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including statutory accounts and NDA reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide key data and documentation for external audits.
- Assist with VAT returns and other tax filings.
Technical Accounting & Controls
- Support IFRS16 lease calculations (depreciation, interest, payments).
- Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure internal controls and policy documents are current and compliant.
Transformation & Culture
- Actively contribute to the finance transformation project.
- Ensure LMS requirements are up to date.

What You’ll Bring
Qualifications
- Part-qualified and actively studying towards AAT, ACA, CIMA, or ACCA (Essential)
Experience
- Year-end audit support or management (Essential)
- Comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels (Essential)
- Intermediate Excel skills and data management (Essential)
- Experience with Sage X3 (Desirable)
Knowledge
- IFRS16 lease accounting (Desirable)
- Internal controls and procedures (Desirable)
- Accounting standards and best practice (Desirable)
