The Stores are part of the Faculty Office and provide supplies to office and laboratory based colleagues, in the Faculty of Life Sciences and other health faculties.
About the role
Applications are invited for the entry level position of Assistant Technician (Stores) to join the busy team in the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine. The post reports to the Operations Officer (Stores) and will be based primarily at the Guy’s Campus and the Waterloo Campus (Franklin Wilkins Building) although you may also be required to work at Denmark Hill and St Thomas’ as required.
The Stores provides a goods inwards/ delivery service for Health Faculties on the Guy’s campus and Franklin Wilkins Building. The post holder will check goods received, provide a delivery service and issue stock from the Guy’s and Franklin Wilkins Building. The team provides cover for each other and works on a rota.
Candidates should:
- Have good literacy and numeracy skills
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Bring a positive work ethic, working enthusiastically and effectively as part of a team
- Be comfortable with a physically demanding role with daily requirements for manual handling and heavy lifting
Previous experience in a similar environment would be useful but not essential as training will be given.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 01/03/27.
