Overview

We are looking for experienced Butchers to learn to run our Butchery Departments like their own business. This is an exciting role where you will champion the needs of the customer, understand your local market and provide them with great service. You will work alongside the Store Manager to develop a business plan that will support the growth in sales and profitability of your department

Of course you will need to make sure that you are all over the legal requirements that come with running a fresh food department and you will make sure that these standards are delivered consistently and that your team know the expectations required too. There will be no “beefing” around when it comes to legalities.

Reporting to: Area Manager

You will have:

Previously worked alongside a team of Butchers, sharing your knowledge and experience with customers and colleagues

Commercial awareness, with either an eye for maths or the understanding of yields and costs

Excellent cutting skills

The ability to listen and understand the needs of your customers, and therefore build great relationships with them

Knowledge of catering businesses within your local area, such as pubs and restaurants is an advantage but not essential

Shift Hours: 42 hrs per week (5 out of 7 including some weekends)
