Join us as UK & Ireland Commercial PR Specialist on a 12month fixed term contract. As the Commercial PR Specialist, you will be responsible for contributing to the positioning of the IKEA brand as unique, meaningful and trusted, and the preferred choice in home furnishing products and solutions. Supporting professional media & influencer relations with effective and engaging commercial PR communications, promoting IKEA and the UK and Ireland’s commercial agenda & priorities. WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE • Minimum of 5 + years of hands on Consumer PR experience, including in digital-first environments, with a passion for creating stories and activations that cut through the noise. • Knowledge of emerging media trends, social platforms, and influencer marketing to fuel powerful, relevant communications with the expertise in using insights to formulate and leverage the Country PR plan. • Effective at building relationships within and across organisations, including influencing at senior levels, to help achieve business outcomes.• Demonstrated strategic development skills, and ability to link closely with the internal and external business reality. • Comfortable working in agile structures and integrated environments confidently leading cross-functional and agency teams while owning end -to-end project delivery.• Blends both agency and in house communications experience, including expert management of PR partners to accelerate results. • Responds decisively in challenging moments with practical crisis communication experience. • Demonstrates a strong connection to IKEA’s brand, culture, values, and ways of working, using them as a foundation for authentic communication.• Ability to understand the complexity of the IKEA business and the role of communication as an integrated part of the business. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:• Execute and implement the country Commercial PR plan (whilst securing alignment with the global communication plans and local business priorities)• Define, plan, create/execute and follow up on commercial PR activities, driving end-to-end project management, including close collaboration with and day-to-day management of our Consumer PR agency, ensuring output is high quality, on brand, well informed, and delivered on time.• Collaborate cross functionally with Global, Commercial, Marketing and Social teams to ensure aligned narratives and consistent messaging across all consumer facing communication to maximise commercial impact.• Contribute to the development and delivery of the media relations agenda by building and nurturing strong relationships with key media, influencers, and partners. Work semi autonomously to run an effective consumer press office.• Monitor, analyse, and report PR performance, using data to evaluate impact, optimise activity, and share clear, concise, insight led results with internal stakeholders.• Support core press office operations, including participation in the country on duty phone rota (including on some weekends) and the media product loan process.WE CARE FOR THE PEOPLE It takes the diversity of thought, background, and culture to make great ideas a reality. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW • Starting Salary from £45,000 per annum, based on competence and experience. • Duration: 12 months maternity cover, provisional start date 23rd March 2026.• Full-time: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. • Location: UK Service Office, Wembley, Hybrid working, 12 days’ workplace presence, of which 8 must be in Wembley, with the remaining 4 in an individual’s nearest store.
