Contract Manager – Bermondsey, Greater London

FM Conway is currently seeking a Contract Manager, to join our Structures division. This is a fantastic time to join us during a period of growth as we continue to deliver several high-profile schemes in London. Working within our Asset Management sub division you will provide support to the pre-contracts team when putting together PQQ’s and tenders. This will include advising on buildability, health and safety documentation and the preparation of the tender programme. You will acquire appropriate briefing documents to enable the development of design feasibility works and subsequent outlining designs to the satisfaction of the client. This is a full time, permanent position, offering a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits.

The duties of the Contract Manager role will include:

-Collating, distributing and coordinating the handover of pre/tender information to the construction team

-Providing up to date budget and programming information at all project key stages

-Managing, coordinating, reviewing and ensuring buildability of designs

-Ensuring that the project is set up correctly with the appropriate resources allocated for the works i.e. plant, labour, materials and subcontractors, and ensuring works are maintained in accordance with the Structures Works package

-Managing and coordinating with the project team ensuring all relevant road space applications, permits and approvals are in place and maintained throughout the works duration

-Reviewing and ensuring compliance with subcontractor pre-start meetings, minutes and documentation prior to commencement on site

-Drafting, coordinating and reviewing subcontract contract documents with the project Quantity Surveyor and internal commercial/contract team

What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for a professional and focused Contract Manager who has demonstrable experience working on temporary works, excavations and concrete work. You will be confident in a client facing role and will have worked on NEC/JCT contracts, and you will have exceptional understanding of resource planning, value and cost management, stakeholder engagement and design management experience. To be considered for this role you will be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a construction related qualification such as a NVQ Level 6, HNC or HND. This role will involve travel to other company locations therefore, you must be able to drive and possess a full UK driving licence.
