Deputy Care Home Manager – Teddington, TW11 0AQ, United Kingdom

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Home Manager to support the Home Manager at Homemead Care Home in Teddington, Richmond, ensuring the highest standards of care and service delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a committed team, champion dementia care, and help create a safe, person-centred environment where our residents can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence and support the day-to-day running of the home.
  • Lead on service delivery, continuous improvement, and best practice in dementia care.
  • Support and supervise Care Team Leaders, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Promote person-centred care, maximising choice, dignity, and control for residents.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards (CQC, Health and Social Care Act) and complete audits, reports, and notifications as required.
  • Work collaboratively with residents, families, and external professionals (GPs, social workers, district nurses).
  • Oversee resident activities and ensure clinical equipment is safe and staff are competent in its use.
  • Contribute to service improvement plans and embed the Aster Way and Skills for Care Code of Conduct.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with a care qualification (Level 4 Diploma or equivalent) and supervisory experience in a relevant care setting, with a strong background in person-centred care planning and care management.

You’ll have excellent communication and leadership skills, the ability to work on your own initiative, manage priorities under pressure, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care and embedding best practice. Ideally, you will hold a recognised dementia qualification and have experience of multidisciplinary service delivery, electronic care and medication management systems, end-of-life care, and working with residents with physical, sensory, or complex needs.

You must be flexible to work evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays as required, able to travel across Aster Group locations, and committed to equal opportunities and promoting diversity.
