What you’ll be doing
The Council is undergoing changes to the way decisions are taken, you’ll be supporting the implementation of a revised Leader and Cabinet model of governance. This transformation will enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in decision-making, while simplifying and improving access to governance.
But that’s not all, you will also be responsible for:
Offering specialist advice on governance matters
Ensuring Council decisions comply with legislation and adhere to constitutional frameworks
Reviewing and updating governance policies
Working with the Monitoring Officer and Democratic Services Manager in regularly reviewing the Constitution and identifying areas for improvement
Responsibility for ensuring training for members is up to date, appropriate and enhanced where possible.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.

Contract: Permanent
Salary: £45,718 – £50,788 per annum (City Pay Band 7), pro rata for part time.
Location: This can be flexible – working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices or working from home. You will be able to balance your work location accordingly depending on the priorities of your role and team.
