Job Purpose and Summary
Canon are looking for a passionate eCommerce Merchandiser to work in a rapidly expanding team as maternity cover for 12 months. You will be the standard-bearer for Trading and Merchandising of the assigned product categories, working closely with key stakeholders to deliver class-leading on-site presentation of Canon’s products and to hit revenue targets.

What we ask
This role will expose you to a variety of activities, which include:Â Â
- Owning the key revenue drivers for the assigned product categories within eCommerce including stock, merchandising and cross-sell promotions, using data to drive insight into category performance and to make commercial recommendations to the business.
- Liaising with Content, Digital marketing (PPC, SEO, Affiliates, Display) and CRM to ensure adequate levels of traffic are being redirected to the assigned product categories.
- Working in partnership with the supply chain teams to maintain strong product availability, ensuring forecast accuracy and effective stock planning for seasonal changes and promotions.
- Building and delivering a product-level eCommerce strategy for the assigned product categories, aligning the value proposition (product, price, cross-sell promotions) with Canon’s over-arching product strategy.
- Managing the product roadmap to ensure a high-profile launch for new products, timely exit for discontinued lines and an engaging narrative to customers for the core ranges.
- Supporting the creation of a promotional calendar for the assigned product categories incorporating centrally run seasonal campaigns, local promotions based on the demands of the local markets and tactical promotions.
- To update merchandise product description pages in autonomy, managing the upsell and cross-sell journeys and delivering class-leading on-site presentation of the assigned product categories; liaise with Content to keep homepage and category pages updated.
- When necessary, liaise with external vendors to negotiate, source, and deliver a credible third-party accessories or services range plan that are complementary to the assigned product categories.

Further information
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience operating in eCommerce buying/merchandising roles.
- Be highly articulate in eCommerce, with a good understanding of traffic drivers. You’ll bring a wealth of ideas to improve the online customer experience, the presentation of the Canon product range online and the execution of upsell and cross-sell journeys.
- Be adept at getting things done with a track record of influencing and working cross-functionally with other teams to deliver the revenue of the assigned product categories.
- Have a thirst for data coupled with outstanding analytical skills. Your ability to spot trends and apply the balance between commercial and customer needs sets you apart from the crowd.
- Be an Advanced Excel user.
- Have command of Business English with another European language considered an advantage.
