Description: Energy and Retrofit Manager **INTERNAL ONLY**

About the role
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Energy and Retrofit Manager to play a crucial role in leading the Council’s response to the climate crisis and achieving our net-zero goals.
This is a newly created role and offers an opportunity to build a new team and join a dynamic, new Economy and Place Group whose purpose is to enable Cambridge to grow sustainably as an inclusive place to live, work and visit, by working across the Council, with businesses, communities and economic partnerships to maximise economic, social and environmental benefits for the city.

What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible for delivering and iterating on the council’s retrofit and energy infrastructure projects and programs and building on key partnerships in the public and private sectors as part of our mission to reduce and decarbonize energy usage across the city and the Cambridge City Council footprint.

You will also deliver positive outcomes for residents around creating healthier and more resilient homes, with wider links into fuel poverty and the prevention work of the Communities Group.

As a manager you will foster a new team culture from the different elements of energy and retrofit work being brought together under your management and within the wider Economy and Place Group; and develop an ambitious and impactful delivery plan across a variety strategic work streams to drive accountability, high quality and innovative projects.

You’ll need extensive leadership and line management experience combined with experience and knowledge of energy and retrofit and the proven ability to build partnerships and secure funding.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £55,021 – £61,123 per annum (City Pay Band 9), pro rata for part time.

Location: This can be flexible – working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices or working from home. You will be able to balance your work location accordingly depending on the priorities of your role and team.
