Calisen Metering is expanding its high‑performing Group Finance function, and we’re looking for a talented Financial Accountant to help strengthen the accuracy, integrity and innovation of our financial reporting framework. About the Role

As a key member of Group Finance, you will play a central role in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting across the Calisen Group. Your work will span management accounting, statutory reporting under IFRS and FRS 102, external audit coordination, and the administration of complex accounting standards.

You’ll also contribute to our continuous improvement and automation agenda, helping us embed smarter, technology‑led ways of working — including emerging AI tools — to enhance efficiency and reporting quality.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • External Audit Coordination — Lead the year‑end and interim audit process, manage deliverables, maintain an audit‑ready control environment, and support the preparation of subsidiary and consolidated financial statements for timely Companies House filings.

  • Group Reporting — Prepare monthly consolidated reporting packs for internal stakeholders and shareholders.

  • Management Accounting — Produce monthly management accounts, maintain ledger integrity, manage intercompany balances, and support budgeting and forecasting for group holding companies.

  • Lease Accounting — Maintain lease records in Rubli, reconcile outputs to the general ledger, prepare disclosures and support audit of lease balances.

  • Technical Accounting — Monitor developments in accounting standards, support impact assessments, and assist with lender, shareholder or ad‑hoc reporting requirements.

  • Finance Automation — Champion process improvements, automation opportunities and emerging AI tools to reduce manual effort and enhance reporting efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.

  • ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualification — essential.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong understanding of IFRS in a group reporting context and working knowledge of FRS 102.

  • Familiarity with IFRS 16 lease accounting.

  • Understanding of UK statutory reporting, Companies House requirements and the Companies Act 2006.

  • Experience preparing or reviewing statutory accounts under IFRS/FRS 102.

  • Exposure to external audit processes and management accounting.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is desirable.

  • Interest in automation, process improvement or AI‑enabled reporting tools is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • High‑quality financial statement preparation and supporting schedules.

  • Ability to apply accounting standards to real‑world transactions and identify judgement areas.

  • Strong Excel capability, including financial modelling and reconciliations.

  • Familiarity with Power BI is advantageous, with a willingness to develop further.

  • Ability to research and interpret accounting standards clearly for non‑technical audiences.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to multi‑entity reporting.
