Head Barista – Birchwood at The Conduit, London | Full-Time / Permanent
£33400 + excellent benefits including healthcare, wellbeing support, 23 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance, meals on duty, and more.
We’re looking for a Head Barista to lead the coffee and barista function at The Conduit – one of London’s leading private members’ clubs. You will be responsible for ensuring consistently high-quality beverages, strong service standards and an engaging guest experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role, where you will take ownership of the barista station during service, support and develop the team, and champion a coffee offering that reflects quality, craft and attention to detail.
Birchwood at The Conduit, led by chef Will Devlin, is a brand-new cafe and wine bar that will bring a fresh, ingredient-led approach rooted in seasonality and sustainable sourcing. Expect bold, thoughtful dishes and a space designed for connection in the heart of Covent Garden.

Head Barista – The Role
- Lead the barista station to ensure smooth, efficient service
- Maintain high standards in coffee quality, presentation, and consistency
- Support front-of-house operations and enhance the overall guest experience
- Demonstrate strong coffee knowledge, including beans, brewing, and equipment
- Contribute to seasonal and evolving beverage offerings, including non-alcoholic options
- Deliver warm, engaging service and confidently recommend drinks to guests
- Build rapport with guests and create a welcoming environment
- Supervise, train, and support barista and front-of-house team members
- Oversee barista station setup, cleanliness, stock control, and equipment maintenance
- Uphold health, safety, hygiene, and company standards while fostering a positive team culture
What we’re looking for
- Experience as a Senior Barista or Head Barista
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation and equipment
- Passion for quality, consistency and guest experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Confident and visible leader
