Health & Safety Advisor – Shipley, BD17 7SW, United Kingdom

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and influencing positive change? We’re looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our Printcraft manufacturing site in Baildon. This is an exciting opportunity to become the on-site health and safety specialist, helping to drive our safety culture forward whilst supporting a major manufacturing operation that produces millions of cards every year. You’ll be joining us at an important time, with a clear Health & Safety strategy, internal compliance programme and new safety management system already in place, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact from day one.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll provide practical and competent health and safety advice across the Printcraft site, supporting colleagues and leaders to create and maintain a safe working environment. Through coaching, engagement and education, you’ll help ensure our policies, procedures and standards are understood and consistently applied.  You’ll carry out audits, inspections, accident investigations and near-miss reviews, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Using safety performance data, you’ll support operational teams with coaching and guidance, helping to reduce risk and continuously improve site performance.  Working closely with colleagues across the wider business, you’ll maintain compliance documentation, support internal and external audits, and ensure site standards remain aligned with cardfactory group requirements. You’ll also represent the business professionally when engaging with external stakeholders, auditors and inspectors, ensuring any actions are completed effectively and on time.  A key part of the role will be delivering training, leading toolbox talks and health and safety meetings, supporting the management of our Health & Safety Management System and helping to develop Safe Systems of Work to keep colleagues safe and supported.

What we’re looking for:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health as a minimum requirement.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, production or distribution environment and confidence supporting operational teams.
  • Experience managing Health & Safety Management Systems and maintaining compliance documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to simplify complex health and safety requirements and communicate them effectively.
  • A proactive, approachable and pragmatic style, with excellent organisation, time management and relationship-building skills.
