What the day will look like

 

In this varied role, you will handle the routine management of captive insurance client portfolios. You will ensure excellent client service and deliver their insurance programmes effectively. You will work closely with senior client partners and internal colleagues, gaining exposure to financial reporting, regulatory compliance, company secretarial work, and the strategic development of captive solutions.

 

Key activities include:

  • Owning the day-to-day insurance servicing and renewals for a portfolio of captive clients, ensuring all Aon Guernsey and client deadlines are met
  • Reviewing all insurance-related matters for client Board and Committee meeting packs and communicating insurance topics at Board and Underwriting Committee meetings
  • Drafting and reviewing meeting minutes and reviewing contract wordings to ensure insurance programmes are fit for purpose and aligned with relevant regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Developing excellent working relationships with key partners including clients, colleagues, regulators, insurers and brokers, and keeping clients abreast of relevant developments in Aon and the global insurance markets
  • Working closely with the Client Services Director/Client Executive and wider team to achieve both AIM and client goals, contributing to budgetary objectives and supporting projects or ad hoc work as required
  • Providing and/or reviewing timely insurance and claims information for finance colleagues in preparation of management accounts
  • Actively handling, supporting, and developing staff reporting to you and contributing to the training and education of the wider team

This is an opportunity to join an expanding captive management team in one of the world’s leading captive domiciles, working with large multinational clients on sophisticated risk financing structures. You will gain broad exposure across underwriting, governance, financial reporting, and regulatory topics, while still being able to build deep, long-term relationships with your own portfolio of clients.

You will collaborate closely with senior client representatives, Aon Client Services Directors and Executives, finance, and regulatory specialists, as well as colleagues across Aon’s global network. In return, you will be supported by experienced leaders and technical experts who will help you develop your captive, insurance, and leadership skills, with opportunities to grow your career within Aon’s global Captive & Insurance Management practice.

 

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • ACII qualification (or similar) or working towards this designation, with strong technical knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry
  • Confirmed general insurance experience alongside equivalent experience; previous experience within the captive insurance industry is desirable
  • Strong client service focus with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior partners and deliver ‘client service excellence’
  • Competent user of Excel and comfortable working with insurance and claims data, including supporting finance colleagues with management accounts inputs
  • Some experience of staff supervision or people development, with a proactive approach to supporting and coaching colleagues
