Join Aon’s Global Commercial Risk technology team as an IT Product Operations Lead, where you will play a meaningful role in maintaining the stability, performance, and smooth operation of our global application portfolio. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing you to work remotely or from the Dublin office, following Aon’s Smart Working policy.

What the day will look like

  • Establishing and evolving scalable operational models across the Commercial Risk product portfolio.
  • Ensuring clear ownership, governance, support processes, and documentation for all supported products.
  • Acting as the senior point of contact for incidents, problems, and changes impacting business-critical applications when a blocking issue arises.
  • Leading cross-functional teams through incident management, root cause analysis, and service restoration activities.
  • Managing vendor AMS providers, third-party partners, and internal support teams to deliver high-quality operational outcomes.
  • Taking responsibility for Product and Data Operations, guaranteeing data accuracy, reliability, robustness, and streamlined automated workflows.
  • Collaborating with Product Managers and Engineering teams to prioritise operational improvements, technical debt, and enhancement opportunities.
  • Driving operational excellence through benchmark measurement, SLA management, reporting, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Promoting engineering guidelines including monitoring, observability, release readiness, and operational risk controls.
  • Finding opportunities to increase automation, reduce operational risk, and improve user experience across the portfolio.

This is an opportunity to build and influence the operational strategy for a truly global technology portfolio supporting Aon’s Commercial Risk business. You will work closely with senior Product and Engineering leaders, partnering with teams across multiple regions and functions to deliver reliable, scalable technology solutions.

Distinct from typical IT operations roles, this position integrates operational leadership, product thinking, vendor management, and data operations. You’ll be empowered to influence product roadmaps, lead groundbreaking improvements, and apply modern support practices that have a direct impact on business performance and client outcomes.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Significant experience leading IT Operations, Production Support, Product Operations, or Platform Operations within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes, including experience managing major incidents and communications with collaborators.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple support providers, outsourced services, and vendor relationships against agreed service levels.
  • Experience partnering with Product Management and Engineering teams to prioritise operational improvements and guide delivery roadmaps.
  • Excellent collaborator management, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, coupled with a continuous improvement outlook and the ability to influence across a global matrix organisation.
