JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the LG QC Manager, the LG Quality Inspector is part of the Quality department of Burberry Manifattura. The person is responsible for the quality control inspections of leather goods manufactured by our internal subcontractors and vendors. The work is performed at manufacturing sites based mainly in Italy, Eastern Europe and Turkey. The job requires every week multiple days travel to manufacturing sites in Italy and abroad to perform inspections.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • QUALITY ACTIVITIES
    • To perform field inspection and ensure that the quality of the leathergoods met the company standards for both finish product and semi-finished item
    • To ensure any problems on the Leathergoods are identified and defect resolutions are communicated to the Technical Inspector;
    • To ensure critical control points and general quality guidelines working in conjunction with the LG Quality Control Manager and The Technical Inspector;
    • To ensure quality expectations are clear and aligned in between manufacturers and Burberry;
    • Based on field inspection results, report and propose to manager and quality team any need on quality acceptance level or tolerances on specific products;
    • To lead problem solving activities and corrective actions working in conjunction with the LG Quality Control Manager.
    • To prepare and communicate to the business the documents needed to support quality inspections;
    • To Define packaging items to guarantee Burberry quality level during transportation and stock
  • COORDINATION, REPORTING ACTIVITIES
    • After each inspection a report is sent that allows or not the delivery of the goods inspected;               
    • To manage daily feedback with wider teams (manufacturing, technician, quality);

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • High school diploma (knowledge in leathergoods is preferred);
  • Computer literate (Pack office, ERP, PLM);
  • Ability to take decision based on technical facts, experience and knowledge;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Problem solving capability;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Basic knowledge of English is appreciated.
  • Punctuality and schedule flexibility are essential;
  • Able to organise his own planning based on daily situation;
