Overview
Salary: £4,161 (this is the actual salary, pro rata to reflect part-time and term-time only contract)
Shift hours: 7.5 hours per week (12.00 – 13.30 Mon-Fri)
We are looking to appoint an energetic, caring and reliable Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to join our hard-working team.
Duties will include:
- Being responsible for securing the safety, welfare and good conduct of our children during lunchtime, following the procedures of the school
- Creating play opportunities for children, physically able to engage all children in play, e.g. skipping, dancing, basketball, table tennis and the outdoor gym
- Administering first aid (training will be given)
- Assisting pupils with developing their eating skills
- Ancillary services such as cleaning up the dining room and setting up and putting away play equipment.

Our ideal candidate will:
- be passionate about working with children, ensuring that the behaviour, safety and well-being of children are always paramount within any activity
- take pride in their work and value themselves as an integral part of the school community
- be able to communicate effectively with others to receive and pass on information and instructions, and guide a firm but pleasant manner
- have experience of children in some capacity of responsibility (for example, you have children of your own or previous experience of working in a school)
- adhere to the guidelines set by the Head Teacher for lunchtime supervision and accept supervision from the Senior Supervisory Assistant or the School Business Manager
- have knowledge of how children play and its relevance to their development
- have a Paediatric First Aid level qualification or a willingness to undertake the training (this would be provided by the school)
- have an understanding of Child Protection & Safeguarding and relevant Health & Safety issues
- have an understanding of the boundaries of confidentiality and maintain these
