Summary:
Energean is seeking to employ a Mechanical Officer for our offices in Haifa, Israel. The Mechanical Officer is responsible for supporting the multidisciplinary Maintenance Management practice, including: Risk Assessment studies, Inspection Plans, Reliability and Maintenance studies on a risk-based approach, Safety & Operational Critical Elements as well as Performance Standards.
Key Accountabilities:
• Reporting to the Energean Maintenance Superintendent and liaising with onshore and offshore support teams.
• Actively participating in embedding Energean’s core values and culture
• Expected to add value to the Maintenance team with specific knowledge and experience and a key member in the decision process for the yearly work plan.
• Perform inspection of equipment to ensure that it is in good order and that safety precautions are being followed
• Conducting research on new technology or techniques that may be applied in the workplace
• Performs preventive maintenance and repair work on machinery, equipment, tools and other items used in the FPSO
• Supporting the purchase, installation and repairing of equipment as needed
• Determination of Inspection frequencies and locations, at both general and detailed level. Selection of appropriate inspection techniques
• Helping to develop a maintenance plan for equipment to ensure smooth operations
• Guidelines to identify Safety and Operational Critical Elements involving PSM
• Evaluating possible causes of machinery failures and taking correction action where needed
• Self-motivated, results-orientated with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality performance
• Working with the Inspection and Repairs team in prioritising delivery of inspection activities in accordance with the strategies
• Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance and accordance with Energean Global Operations standards
• Scheduling maintenance activities to ensure that machinery is in good working order at all times
• Development of temporary repair solutions in accordance with Energean Standards
• Carry out regular offshore visits to Energean Power FPSO with a particular focus on maintenance
• Experience in hands-on execution & delivery of projects & contracts for Maintenance Build Management
• Experience of maintenance management systems, safety/environmental critical elements/activities, performance standards
• Strong safety/environmental awareness – understanding of legislative requirements
• Undertake On-call and emergency response duties as required
• In all cases looking out for Energean’s best interests at all times
Qualifications and Experience:
• Related engineering BSc/BEng degree or equivalent
• Mechanical, Materials or Inspection Engineering degree or equivalent
• Diploma in Engineering or similar CEng/Eur Ing
• Significant experience in maintenance activities within the oil & gas and/or petrochemical industry
• In depth working knowledge of CMMS (Maximo preferred, but not essential)
• Knowledge of structural design and late life re-assessment through international standards for Offshore Fixed Installations
• Knowledge of upstream and downstream processes and equipment
• Knowledge of RBI (Risk based Inspection) / RCM (Risk Centred Maintenance) / Management of Change (MOC) practices
• Familiar with Process Safety Management, Integrity & Reliability
• Demonstrable industry experience working to an advance level of competence
• Ability to collaborate with and influence key decision makers in an operations environment
• Previous role within an oil and gas operator preferred
• Previous experience working at a similar level
Skills:
• Understanding, highly skilled individual who can work as part of a cross asset team
• Ability to read PFDs, P&IDs, mechanical drawings and engineering documentation, inspection reports, maintenance reports
• Strong networking and communication skills externally and internally – ability to cultivate and build strong internal and external relationships with business counterparts
• Ability to influence and motivate others
• Good written and presentation skills, with ability to adapt style and content of presentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Display calmness under pressure, ability to focus on team priorities
• Advanced Microsoft Office experience
• Ability to display confidence in own abilities and is motivated to deliver
