JOB PURPOSE
The Security Project Manager plays a critical role in the successful delivery of the Security Improvement Programme (SIP). The primary purpose of this role is to lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects within the SIP. The Security Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all allocated projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
The SIP is focused on enhancing the security posture of Burberry through a range of initiatives, including technology upgrades, process improvements, and employee security training. The Security Project Manager will play a vital role in ensuring that these initiatives are delivered efficiently and effectively, with minimal disruption to the business.
The Security Project Manager will work closely with the SIP Director to define project objectives, scope, and requirements. They will develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure that all projects are aligned with the overall goals of the SIP. They will also work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and HR, to ensure that all project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
In addition to project management responsibilities, the Security Project Manager will also be responsible for managing risks and issues related to the allocated projects. They will identify potential risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies to minimise their impact. They will also be responsible for reporting on project progress and status to the SIP Director and other key stakeholders.
Ultimately, the Security Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the SIP delivers tangible benefits to the organisation, including improved security, reduced risk, and enhanced compliance. They will play a key role in achieving the overall objectives of the programme and will be instrumental in ensuring that the organisation is better equipped to manage the ever-evolving threat landscape.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets for the allocated projects within the SIP.
- Manage team to design, develop, and implement new security technologies as necessary to support business and technology solutions.
- Identify and manage risks and issues related to the allocated projects within the SIP.
- Work with project teams to ensure technical quality of security focused deliverables and adherence to security standards, governance and controls practices.
- Lead planning workshops to provide a detailed plan for the full project duration with rolled up milestones for reporting.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their expectations are met or exceeded.
- Manage project scope, ensuring that it remains aligned with the SIP goals.
- Ensure that projects are executed in accordance with project management best practices and methodologies.
- Manages Risks and Issues and clearly documents any actions and decisions which are reported to the SIP Director weekly.
- Report on project progress and status to the SIP Director.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings and risk reduction.
- Manage and mentor project team members, ensuring that they have the resources and support they need to succeed.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Experience in risk management, change management, and project budgeting.
- Knowledge of security technologies and solutions.
- Experience working in a large, complex organisations.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Desired Qualifications & Certifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration.
- Security-related certification such as CISSP, CISM or CRISC.
- Certification in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Six Sigma.
- Experience with security frameworks such as NIST or ISO27001.
- Experience with cloud security solutions and technologies.
