Overview
At Trustpilot, we’re on an incredible journey. We’re a profitable, high-growth FTSE-250 company with a big vision: to become the universal symbol of trust. We run the world’s largest independent consumer review platform, and while we’ve come a long way, there’s still so much exciting work to do. Come join us at the heart of trust!
In this role, you will be accountable for building and leading Trustpilot’s Risk function. While a foundational risk framework exists, it requires substantial development to meet the needs of our scaling business. Your priority will be to establish a clear, credible and scalable approach to risk that supports how the business operates and grows. While the initial focus is purely on risk, developing a formal compliance capability will become part of the role in the future.
Reporting directly to the Chief Trust Officer, you will work closely with executive leadership and Board Committees to ensure that risk and control considerations are understood, prioritised and acted on – without creating unnecessary friction. This is a unique role that combines strategy, build and hands-on execution; you won’t just define the model, you will operationalise it across the entire organisation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Establishing the function: Implement a fit-for-purpose Risk operating model with clear governance and decision-making.
- Maturing risk management: Improve the enterprise risk framework to ensure consistent identification and tracking aligned with risk appetite.
- Building compliance capability: Translate regulatory requirements into pragmatic business practices applied across all products and markets.
- Supporting business decisions: Embed actionable risk guidance into product development and commercial initiatives.
- Governance and reporting: Provide the Board and leadership with focused, decision-useful reporting and clear escalation routes.
- Regulatory change and incidents: Oversee regulatory change and material incidents, ensuring lessons learned drive control improvements.
- Scaling appropriately: Build efficient, scalable frameworks using data and automation to avoid unnecessary bureaucracy.
Who you are:
- Proven track record of building and maturing Risk & Compliance functions within high-growth technology, marketplace, or platform environments across multiple jurisdictions.
- Substantial experience advising executive leadership and Board Committees on complex regulatory and control frameworks.
- Expertise in translating complex regulations into practical, actionable business strategies while making sound decisions with incomplete information.
- A clear, concise communicator capable of driving both high-level strategic direction and hands-on operational delivery.
- A pragmatic, solution-oriented leader who focuses on business outcomes rather than process for its own sake.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building structure where none exists, while appropriately challenging the status quo.
What’s in it for you:
- A range of flexible working options to dedicate time to what matters to you
- Competitive compensation package + bonus
- 25 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days after 2 years of employment
