We’re looking for a detail-focused and customer-driven Service Charge Officer to join our team at PA Housing. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate and transparent service charges that residents can trust.

You’ll be involved in the full service charge cycle from setting budgets to producing year-end accounts while working closely with colleagues across the business and supporting residents with their queries. If you enjoy problem-solving, working with data, and making complex information easy to understand, this could be the perfect role for you.

Please note: This is a fixed term contract until 1st February 2027

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver the full service charge cycle, including budgets, year-end statements, and reconciliations
  • Validate service charge costs and ensure accurate allocation across schemes
  • Investigate and resolve variances, working with stakeholders to understand differences
  • Produce clear and transparent communications for residents about their service charges
  • Review invoices, accruals, and prepayments to ensure financial accuracy
  • Work closely with auditors and support year-end processes
  • Manage a portfolio of schemes and attend site visits to support resident queries
  • Collaborate with teams across housing, finance, and estates to ensure a joined-up service
  • Support development teams with setting service charges for new schemes
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, accuracy, and value for money

What we’re looking for:

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Are a Finance or Accounting graduate, or have some experience in finance, accounting or the housing sector
  • Have strong numerical and analytical skills and enjoy working with financial data
  • Have an interest in developing a career within finance and service charges, with relevant experience being desirable but not essential
  • Are confident using Excel and Microsoft Office, or are keen to develop your skills further
  • Can communicate clearly and confidently with residents, explaining financial information and service charges in a simple, helpful and accessible way
  • Are organised, detail-focused and able to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Can demonstrate relevant transferable skills, knowledge or experience from previous roles, education or other settings
  • Bring a proactive, “can-do” attitude, a willingness to learn and a commitment to delivering an accurate, customer-focused service
