Sessional Lecturers in Business – London

You won’t find a traditional lecture theatre at Ravensbourne, but you will find a range of fluid teaching spaces where collaboration and experimentation are encouraged, and where learning happens through practice as much as theory.
The Role
We are expanding our pool of Sessional Lecturers across our business subject areas. These are hourly paid, and work-from-home, hybrid, and/or on campus roles where you will work closely and collaboratively with our permanent course teams.
You will contribute to teaching, marking and supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students through the following activities:
- Teaching across a a range of business management subjects including marketing, finance, operations and project management, professional practice, organizational behaviour, and research methods
- Supporting students through assessment retrievals
- Providing academic guidance and mentorship to students
- Marking retrieval assessments
- Assisting with partner marking and moderation processes
The Candidate
You will enjoy teaching and working with students on a oneâtoâone basis, supporting them to succeed through thoughtful academic guidance and meaningful, developmental comments, using feedback as a key tool to tutor, motivate, and guide students towards successful outcomes.
You will be someone who inspires students through inclusive and creative teaching methods, is comfortable working at pace, and enjoys being part of a collaborative course team. You will have experience of teaching, marking, moderation and assessment experience in a UK university environment, and ideally will also have experience as a personal tutor at undergraduate or postgraduate levels.

You have:
- A creative approach to preparing and delivering teaching content
- An ability to work as part of a large teaching team and where needed independently

Interview process
We are operating a rolling programme of recruitment, and we will initially screen CVs and contact those with experience in areas we need additional teaching cover. You will be interviewed initially on Teams. You will then be invited to attend a session to meet members of the course team.
For marking-focused roles, shortlisted candidates may be required to complete a short marking exercise prior to interview, using anonymised student work and provided marking guidance. This allows us to assess the quality of feedback, accuracy of marking, and overall approach to assessment. Performance in this exercise may inform whether candidates are progressed to interview.
All candidates will be required to demonstrate their right to work in the UK as part of the onboarding process.
