We’re recruiting an experienced Sous Chef who is passionate about exceptional food and world-class customer service, and who can confidently oversee all Compass Group UK&I catering and service operations for Defence on a full time basis, contracted to 35 hours per week.
As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring our kitchens and service counters run smoothly and helping to deliver truly incredible food experiences. Here’s an idea of what your shift patterns will be: 5 out of 7 days
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations
• Lead and motivate a fast-paced team to deliver excellent results
• Oversee food preparation and service in a high-volume environment
• Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards are always met
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene, and health standards
• Assist with stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
About You:
• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior CDP ready for the next step
• Strong background in high-volume kitchens
• Able to thrive under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency
• A natural team player with excellent communication skills
• Organised, reliable, and passionate about food and service excellence
