The Role:
You will be responsible for providing a high quality, responsive, customer-focused housing management and lettings service for homeless households living in temporary accommodation, ensuring that all self-contained properties, hostels & HMOs are well managed, are maintained in a safe and habitable condition and meet all statutory requirements in respect of fire safety and health & safety. To achieve this, you will manage and motivate a team of Temporary Accommodation Officers and an administrator to ensure effective delivery of customer focused services on time and within budget.

Working proactively and collaboratively with Housing Advisors and other service managers, you will develop and implement effective procedures and monitoring systems for ensuring that all temporary accommodation that is provided on an interim basis is withdrawn as soon as the Council has discharged its duty to provide it.

About You:
You will have experience of providing customer focused services, ideally through working in tenancy management or in similar enforcement or community development roles and achieving measurable results and continuous improvement.
Experience of first line management by demonstrating you can maximise the potential of individuals and having an awareness of your own impact on others is important
Demonstrable experience of effectively working in the fields of homelessness and housing advice, policy, practice and legislation would be advantageous.

Additional information:
Working predominantly from our offices at Chesterton Road, ability to travel between different locations in the city to undertake visits and attend meetings

The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Due to the nature of this position, you will need to be able to travel around the city (by car or bike).

Role:
Temporary Housing Service Manager

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday

Contract: Fixed term – Maternity cover (12 months approx)

Salary: £45,718 – £50,788 per annum (City Pay Band 7)

Location: Hybrid. Predominantly office based with some flexibility to allow for working from home.
