Warehouse Shift Manager – Back Shift – Kettering, Northamptonshire
- This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

Main Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Section Leads and Warehouse Operatives.
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations across a highly automated environment.
- Ensure automation systems, processes and people work together to deliver operational excellence.
- Drive inventory accuracy through effective stock control and coaching
- Monitor performance against safety, service, productivity and quality KPIs.
- Manage labour deployment, resource planning and shift performance
- Work closely with Engineering, Automation and Flow Control teams to maximise equipment availability and throughput.
- Have advanced IT skills including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- A good communicator, able to operate at all levels clearly and concisely with the proven ability to communicate complex data terminology so it is understood by the data owner and the business
- Are supportive of an inclusive culture – recognising and valuing that difference is good
Ideal Candidate
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have experience leading teams within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
- Are passionate about operational excellence and delivering results through people.
- Have experience managing supervisors, team leaders or Section Leads.
- Understand inventory management, stock accuracy and warehouse control processes.
- Have strong planning and organisational skills and can effectively manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness and understand how operational performance impacts cost and service.
- Are confident using KPIs, data and reporting to drive decisions and improvements.
- Have excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage teams at all levels.
- Remain calm under pressure and are capable of making effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within an automated warehouse or distribution centre.
- Knowledge of WMS, SAP EWM, WCS or similar warehouse systems.
- Experience supporting operational change, automation projects or site start-ups.
- Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
