This Role:
This is a Team Leader role based at 30-32 De Crespigny Park. You will join our dedicated team providing support to vulnerable adults with enduring mental health conditions who have been eligible for support under the supervision of the Criminal Justice System. You will be responsible for supporting individuals to live as independently as possible in their own flats, engage with community agencies and resources, and to maintain meaningful contact with the Southwark Forensic Community Team.
To facilitate this, you will also be responsible for leading and managing a team, ensuring excellent person-centred support, good quality assurance and compliance, and adherence to MTVH policies and procedures amongst other tasks as set by the Team Manager and Operations Manager. You will also be responsible for managing and building the team, which will include supervisions, performance appraisals and personal training and development work with individuals. The service supports 15 customers, 12 at the De Crespigny Park site and 3 in non-supported accommodation at De Laune Street. We assist individuals to develop the life skills identified in their support plans, provide safe supported accommodation and high quality of care and support, and promote independence by working in partnership with a range of agencies. We also assist individuals to explore appropriate move-on options that may become available to them.
You may be required to work shift patterns flexibly over a Monday to Sunday rota, which could include bank holidays. The 37.5-hour contract is split between 22.5 hours supernumerary administration work, and 15 hours on-site support.
About You:
Excellent communication, writing and reporting skills.
Effective staff management and leadership skills.
Experience of delivering support to vulnerable individuals with enduring mental health support needs, and behaviours which may challenge services.
Experience in creating, reviewing and implementing support plans and risk assessments.
Strong IT skills are also highly desirable.
Ability to complete reports and assignments within a deadline.
You will be expected to monitor customers throughout the shift and provide detailed handover reports to the Manager/Operations Manager.
Contribute to the completion of service audits and checks.
Be prepared to work with people who present with behaviours that may challenge.
Ability to problem solve and de-escalate situations.
Ability to establish and maintain a useful and mutually beneficial joint-working relationships with customer support networks.
