Location: Gateshead Hybrid role, 2-3 days office based role
12-month maternity cover – potential to lead to a full time role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Group Procurement Manager to provide maternity cover within our established Procurement team. The Group Procurement Manager will focus on supply categories. Due to the nature of our business this will be based around cleaning services, including machinery, pest and waste control subcontractors. Defining and implementing the category strategy, carrying out sourcing activity and managing supplier relationships across all relevant Churchill businesses.
As Group Procurement Manager you’ll be:
- Working closely with key stakeholders and regional operations across the Churchill businesses to reflect and influence the needs of all businesses in the category strategy.
- Reporting to the Group Procurement Director, contribute to the ongoing design and implementation of a new category-led operating model for Churchill.
- Implementing supply chain solutions aligned to Churchill’s Sustainability Charter.
- Developing selection criteria and drives the selection of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams, conducting supplier negotiations and ongoing supplier management
- Ensuring procurement input is applied in client bid management, and also lead this early enough in the process for cost and quality aspects to be properly considered
- Monitoring and drive adherence and support to new/existing procurement processes and contracts.
- Managing and report on category KPIs to monitor performance
As Group Procurement Manager you’ll have:
- A minimum 3 years in a category management environment
- A track record in managing procurement spend in the defined category
- First class personal, written and verbal communication skills as well as tact diplomacy and negotiating expertise in dealing with a wide range of knowledgeable clients, suppliers, and colleagues
- Significant commercial procurement experience
- Experience in a complex environment with a high level of interface with a diverse range of stakeholders and customers
- Demonstrable influencing and negotiation skills, working with senior stakeholders from strategic suppliers
Desirable:
- MCIPS qualified
- Experience in a facilities services environment
