As the statutory Headteacher of Coventry Virtual School, you will have a relentless focus on raising the educational achievement of children in care or known to a social worker. 

Working together with your service, education settings, children, families and key partners; you will set clear expectations and advocate strongly for the rights and entitlement of children. 

The children we work with come from a variety of backgrounds and in order to deliver the best possible care it is vital that we have a workforce that represents and understands their unique experiences and perspectives.

The systems and processes you put into place will provide a strong evidence base to measure children’s outcomes, enabling you to strengthen challenge, provide support and offer training where needed. 

As you champion for children you will influence everyone across the system to have high aspirations and inspire them to do all that they can to ensure our children flourish and aspire to be the very best that they can be as they progress through a positive pathway to adulthood.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

You will be a qualified teacher who can lead collaboratively with passion, tenacity and kindness.

You will have an excellent understanding of the current social care, SEND and educational legislation relevant to children in care, children known to a social worker and care leavers; and have a passion for promoting their inclusion and educational achievement.
