Salary: £24,350

Our underwriters are responsible for accurately processing customers mortgage applications through our systems, ensuring they meet the appropriate policies and criteria. The role underwrites cases by checking mortgage calculations, customer’s documents such as payslips and proof of I.D, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail within this fast paced, customer focused environment. It requires strong attention to detail to be able to highlight any discrepancies or concerns.
 
The role also involves working closely with mortgage brokers, solicitors and customers calling them, keeping them up to date on the mortgage process and gain any extra information needed will be an important part of this opportunity. Continuous learning and keeping up to date with product and policy changes will be key as well as and achieving quality standards.

You don’t need mortgage experience as we will give you all the training and support you need but we are looking for good experience in customer service and evidence of working in processing and / or administration. You’ll have experience of dealing with more complex pieces of work and will be comfortable in a fast paced environment. You’ll be accurate and keen to learn with the ability to deal with our customer’s enquiries and problem solve when needed.

It’s important you’re confident with PC work, have a good attention to detail and a ‘can-do’ attitude, enabling you to get things right for the department and the customer. 
 
Once you’re trained and comfortable in role (up to 6 months) you’ll revert to a hybrid working pattern. We’ll then ask you to work at least two days (more if you prefer) with us in our brand new building Coventry House, in Binley where you’ll spend time with your team, enjoy free car parking, a self-service restaurant , multi faith prayer room and a games room!
