Job Description

Renishaw is seeking to recruit a UK and Ireland Sales Manager, to work in our Spectroscopy Products Division.  Reporting to the Business Manager, and supported by the UK applications and Service teams, this is a key role in developing and capitalising on the business in the region. The post will require extensive travel across the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering annual divisional revenue sales growth targets in accordance with the sales plan.

  • Generating new business and exploring potential new applications.

  • Building new customer relationships and maintaining relationships with existing customers.

  • Provide Commercial and Technical solutions to customers.

  • Preparing quotes, technical information packs and tenders.

  • Organising local marketing activity such as seminars.

  • Attending relevant conferences and exhibitions.

  • Managing customer demonstrations.

  • Maintain accurate customer records in CRM and ensure quotes and call reports are prepared and stored in line with company procedures.

  • Maintain an opportunity pipeline to support achievement of sales targets and review with line manager in regular one to one's.

  • Maintain regular communication with Production, Service and Applications to ensure prompt responses to customer enquiries.

Requirements

  • A degree in a STEM related subject

  • Demonstrated sales expertise in capex with a focus on analytical instrumentation,

  • To have knowledge and a proven ability of working within the scientific research markets in academia and/or industry.

  • A full, clean driving licence and a willingness to be on the road for up to 40% of the time

  • Ability to travel into Europe for exhibitions and internal sales meetings.

Desirable requirements

  • Previous sales experience in spectroscopy

  • Technical knowledge of spectroscopy

  • A science PHD

Person specification

The successful applicant will be self-motivated, organised, and have an attention to detail in their work.  The individual will be personable and a good communicator, both verbally and in writing. They will be able to influence others and demonstrate sound judgement. Finally, they will be able to demonstrate strong sales skills and have a positive and confident attitude and set high standards of customer service. 

Location

This role is based at our headquarters at New Mills near Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire. Regular travel within the UK and Ireland will be required. Hybrid working is available.
