Haven is
seeking a Stock Accountant to support our Finance Function.

In this role,
you will oversee and record the organisation’s inventory, a vital task for maintaining
precise financial records, managing costs effectively, and adhering to
accounting standards. As a Stock Accountant, you will be instrumental in
inventory management, cost control, financial reporting support, and enhancing
overall business efficiency and compliance.

This position
offers a hybrid work arrangement, with an anticipated 3-4 days per week at our
Head Office and the remainder working remotely.

Your
Opportunity:
To learn, develop and become an expert in a key area of the business by:

– Being responsible for the timely and accurate posting of stocks and the reconciliations of control accounts and P&L movements include caravan stock
– Identifying and addressing slow-moving or obsolete inventory, implementing strategies to minimize financial losses
– Assisting with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to inventory transactions and valuations
– Preparing ad hoc reports and analyses as requested by management, providing insights into inventory-related matters
– Identifying opportunities for process improvement within the inventory management system, contributing to the overall efficiency of the supply chain
– Working collaboratively with Parks and Finance Business Partners to regularly reconcile physical inventory counts with the accounting records to identify and resolve any discrepancies

What we’d like you to bring:
– Strong grasp of accounting principles, including GAAP.
– Proficiency in preparing and contributing to financial statements, particularly in accurately reflecting inventory values.
– Understanding of basic supply chain concepts such as procurement, order fulfilment, and logistics.
– Knowledge of internal control procedures to safeguard inventory and prevent fraud.
– Analytical skills to interpret and analyse inventory-related data, including turnover ratios and cost trends.
– Effective communication skills to liaise with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments.
– Ability to identify and address issues related to slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
– Experience in accounting or inventory management roles preferred.
– Demonstrated ability to analyse data, identify trends, and solve inventory management problems.
– Initiative-driven and acts with integrity, transparency, and high ethical standards.
– Able to engage with stakeholders to strengthen the financial culture.
– Knowledge of team awareness and adherence to financial regulations and compliance standards

 – Newly Qualified or Post Qualified experience within a Professional Accounting/Finance qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA
